The Spiral Mask because Tobi died, doesn't make sense.

Now let's say Tobi did die and Obito was wearing the Spiral Mask as a tribute wouldn't it make more sense to wear the Spiral Mask FIRST and only rather than the Tribal Mask?
Because we have seen Obito at the leaf with the Tribal Mask and not the Spiral Mask.

Imagine a close friend of yours has died, he used to wear a yellow hat all the time, you'd pay tribute to him by wearing a yellow hat right? Well, instead you decide to wear a black hat but as time passes (16years later) you finally start wearing the yellow one. That's just odd and confusing.

You do know that Tobi and Obito are the same person right? To the person that said he changed masks to confuses Kakashi and Minato are you mad? A simple change in the design of a mask with ONE eye hole isnt going to confuse anyone let alone ninjas like Minato/Kakashi.

I guess its possible that down the line Obito decided to honor the old Zetsu by creating a mask that was reminiscent of his old friend. We don't know if the ideas for his other masks had any inspiration, but perhaps this Zetsu did not die until later on in the story and he only started wearing it after he was gone.

You see a strange guy with a mask with a single eye hole. Then, some time later you see guy with a slightly different mask but still with a single eye hole. You're gonna tell me that it wouldn't cross your mind that they were the same person? Kakashi and Minato would have to be full on retarded to not see that.

That would make sense if Tobi did die but Obito got introduced to us with the Spiral Mask. Tobi was rumored to be dead on the fight Sasuke VS Dedaira. So that means before Sasuke VS Dedaira even happend he should have been alive, so why paying tribute to someone that was still alive is beyond me.

Maybe the person who tried to capture the kyuubi wasn't Obito. It could be that Obito took up the Tobi persona/mask after that.

The only thing I can think off is that Konoha finds spirals body, so Obito doesn't want to alert Konoha to his connect to spiral so he uses another mask.
