Rin's Death (Reason for No Edo)

To begin this theory, let me start by saying I believe the Mist ninja attacking Rin and Kakashi are being controlled by Madara and at the very least Yagura is among them giving out the orders.

I think Konoha with Minato as the representitive (Kushina too) may be trying to make peace with Kiri or something along those lines (possibly even learn more of the bijuu what with Minato and Kushina having Naruto and Yagura being a jinchuuriki Kage) and obviously Madara/Yagura will not allow that to happen.

Now I think somewhere along the lines they will begin fighting and Madara (and Obito who is there) will learn that Kushina is the Kyuubi's jinchuuriki which sets the stage for Obito's attack on the Leaf during Naruto's birth and finally, I think Rin gets completely obliterated by a Tailed Beast Ball, whether that be by Yagura or Kushina, leaving no body or DNA behind and a heartbroken Obito.

Now Obito has his motive to destroy the Leaf, reason to seal away the jinchuurki and their tailed-beasts and nothing left to hold him from going along with Madara's plan.

I said possibly Kushina, but it would likely be Yagura who is being controlled. The Kushina bit is I guess just my way of justifying Obito knowing Kushina contains the Kyuubi. Of course he could just somehow magically know she is the jinchuuriki, or he could find out.

Nah I think it's all been orchestrated by Madara. Remeber Zetsu never did anything without Madara's consent, remeber how surprised Obito was when he thought he was rebelling? Madara has been trapped in that realm for decades with only Zetsu as company, that's enough to make anyone insane and use evil tactics as a way to get what they want.

Half the people brought back with the Edo were fodder. Dan came back, for what? To have a conversation with Tsunade. Same with Rin would have come back for had Kabuto got a piece of her DNA. Kabuto didn't need to know her connection with Obito, he could have just brought her back because she was a part of the Yondaime's genin team and her connection to Kakashi.

And the Mist ninja are not in a genjutsu, just Yagura and the Mist ninja are following his orders - those who break the rules are trash, remember? Also, Madara is literally connected to the Mazou which is connected to the bijuu so I don't find it too hard to believe Madara is controlling Yagura through the Mazou and with the help of his one remaining eye. I sure as hell don't think Madara is just sleeping while Obito is on the other side of the room training for his great escape while his loyal Zetsu minions cheer him on.
