Lets start by testing your understanding of mokuton. How is mokuton created? How has mokuton primarily been used in the Manga/Anime? Have you done any previous mokuton training, or are we starting from scratch?
Well, Mokuton in a literal way, is created through utilizing one's Doton and Suiton chakra. Most commonly done by channeling the respective elements throughout each hand, and then with the common Snake hand sign, would mix both of these together, to form the new profound Moku chakra. It is, in my eyes, one of, if not the most versatile KG/Element in the entire Narutoverse, and even in our RP. This is because it has been used in various ways that help in all circumstances. It can be used as a defensive maneuver, which has been showcased by Yamato in such techniques like ''Inter-Locking walls''; It has been shown to carry a vastly great power within the offensive side of it, and that has been shown various times, such as penetration, digging, jagging and other simple ways to inflict damage upon the enemy with the use of Mokuton. Not only that, but the roots themselves have also been shown that the can be manipulated, to sprout several toxins/pollens that harm the enemy in a superficial way, e.g making them fall asleep; And finally, but not the last, Mokuton has shown a great potential when it comes to supplementary techniques, being able to grow pretty much anything that is linear, with the simple use of pillars. That can be used to perform uncountable tasks, such as trap someone, change the terrain of the battle, grow different sized and shaped structures, and everything inbetween. The original user was the famed Hashirama Senju, being able to find this special Nature's blessing. However, as time has passed, people such as Madara, Danzou and Yamato have shown usage of Mokuton. This is all because they had in one way or another, had the DNA from Hashirama implanted onto them, granting them a minuscule power, which can be proven as we have seen their Mokuton techniques being ''less pure'' or so to speak, lacking the true Nature.
Mokuton, both in our anime and in the RP, has shown that it can be used generically from two different circumstances. When the user is in contact with the ground, he can make the wood sprout out of the ground, this does still apply when the user is in the air, being able to use Mokuton techniques without needing contact to the Earth is a major advantage to a Mokuton user; Also, it can be used from within the body itself. And that has been showcased to two different branches, literally growing wooden pillars/structures out of your body, or literally turning your body into that of wood, such as making your fingers develop into wooden branches (Hashirama's battle with Madara). In our RP specifically, Wood is strong to its predecessors, being Earth and Water, whilst in the Manga it has shown that Wood can be considered Equal to Earth. Wood is weak to Lightning, this is because of the sharp cutting power that Lightning carries, being able to easily strike through the Wood, just like it does to Earth. And finally, it is neutral to Fire, however when the two come upon contact, neither technique will disperse, but rather the properties of Fire will cause the Mokuton to ignite, until the oxidizing from the air turns it to ashes, also taking out the fire.
In my opinion, Mokuton is everything in our life, it is the pure essence of mankind, on a philosophical note, it has the age and destructive power from Earth; and the elegance and beauty from Water, having the two main substances that makes up Nature, form into the purest shape that Nature can bring onto the universe. being able to grow Wood from our own bodies just emphasizes onto that point, it is in us at all time, the seed that sprouts at birth, and adapts to all circumstances. Being manipulated in almost every way possible, showing elegance, power, being able to withstand everything, take opportunity, grow into a full tree that lasts for decades to come, seeing everything within itself, even having the wisedom that people believe Earth to have, it is on the land that we are born on, and it stays on the land where we die, it sprouts with us, and decomposes with us, it is us, we are one for all, and all for one. >_>
Got distracted there xD And yes, I have completed all my Mokuton training with Gobi, this is simply to make myself be better with using it. ^^
