Not a plot hole but a plot...anomaly

Hello everyone!

Isn't it a bit strange that Kakashi, Rin and Minato didn't try to actually recover Obito's body for a funeral or something? I'm having a hard time believing they'd just leave him there, crushed by a bunch of rocks in the middle of nowhere, much less so after he actually sacrificed himself for Kakashi.

Has that ever bothered you, before?

The war wasn't exactly never-ending. Besides, during wars you usually even ask if you can recover your soliders' corpses.

And thank you, it's hilarious...it's sort of how I imagine most people here on NB.

Kakashi couldve use chidori to break the rock on obito before the ruble came down.
But that will change the plot.

i see what ya saying especially when all they had to do was get someone with earth release to move the boulders. Kakashi has this but he probably hadn't developed it yet.

Simple: Obito's body was buried underneath giant boulders and the rest of the team just barely got away. They probably wanted to retrieve his body but probably assumed it was useless, considering the boulders would have made his body to nothing more than a messy pulp.

As for Kakashi destroying the boulder: he had just developed his new technique if I remember correctly and it probably wasn't up to par yet to be able to destroy a boulder I think. I'm not sure about that
