Let's say Madara knew of Obito (we have seen how Madara talked with Obito about how he saved "his friends" = Kakashi and Rin) this would make really sense also that he lied to Obito about how he survived when he got hit by the rocks.

About Zetsu, powered up Zetsu got OS by Tenten in the war you really think he could accomplish Madaras task? I guess that is where Black Zetsu comes in as Obito once said to White Zetsu that he isn't a fighting type so Black Zetsu in terms of fighting is way more advanced.

I think it's a legit question to ask what Madara would have done if Obito wasn't there as it seems he was putting him randomly into his plan once he found him, no? He was a "fool" in that matter if he didn't planned anything else besides having faith in an orphan.
