Are Zetsu Plants or Fungi

For a long time I had hypothesized that Zetsu aren't actually Harishima plant-clones, but parasitic fungi that were grown feeding off of mukoton and Harishima dna.

Like Fungi they:

• Live off living matter (absorb chakra)
• Decompose rotting matter (eat dead guys)
• Grow subterraneously, without light
• Multiply with spores

However this latest chapter states they don't need to eat or drink... which would suggest photosynthesis which only plants can do.

What do you guys think?

Probably a mixture, wood style probably covers both categories, if it's specifically limited to plants and can't control fungi it would seem like a stupid limit.

hashi+gedo+= white zetsu or swirl zetsu

There just a mix of Senju DNA and Gedo chakra.
