Though I hope he does not because he carries the title, I am open to the "possibility" of him dying in the end. It could be that the whole Naruto story was written by someone very close to him (i.e. Sakura, Sasuke, Kakashi) who knew him from the very beginning, and decided to tell his story to younger Leaf village students as a memorial...
