Akatsuki Rings

Just wondering if they have a bigger purpose. They are labelled according to the finger corresponding to each hand. It seemed like awhile back that (when Tobito dropped his in the rocks, formerly Sasori's) it was an important object. Even Orochimaru jacked his from the organisation.

i think they are connected to the gedo mazu with the ritual of putting the tailed beasts inside of it.

I think they are probably required to perform the sealing technique and not just to organize them on the hands. They wore the ring on the finger they stood on so my guess is it either has to do with actually being needed to start the sealing process or it is a technological means to allow them to all appear together since they are always apart!

On a serious note, since they aren't really always ontop on the Gedos fingers in person perhaps the rings place them on the correct finger for chakra control or something.

i think they were used by pein so he can call the members wherever they were. its like the chakra thingies that nagato used to control the 6 peins.

I don't think they have any real meaning. Orochimaru took his to show he was too badass to simply be replaced, I believe.

in road to ninja the movie..... menma uses his chakra to create 9 beings opposite to the charaecters of the rings the akastuki wear
And the good akastuki fights those beasts while naruto fights menma

the card is called "Masked Man" (仮面の男, Kamen no Otoko), so as speculated previously it's probably the form that the Masked Man takes in the Illusion World. Supposedly, it's the Illusion World's version of Naruto, a missing-nin with his hair dyed back.

He also seems to lead a group of masked creatures who are probably connected to the Akatsuki and/or Tailed Beasts somehow:

Shisui Uchiha also supposedly plays a role in the movie.
