i have never been raped and i would never rape anyone so i try not to use the word. but i cant look at any threads without the word coming up. am i the only one bothered by this? if so ill shut up bout it lol but seriously am i alone here?
Every one on this thread that stood up for the use of the word rape, as a word that has multiple meanings and can there for be used casually, are rape enablers.
Think about that - casually using the word rape. Thinking of rape in a casual manner. Using rape in a casual manner.
Why am I drawing attention to this? Because rape happens every day, in a great number of cases as a form of correction for many reasons. Thus drawing attention from the extreme disgusting nature of the word does the same for the act.
Literally.
When you stand up for the use of the word rape in a casual sense you are a rape enabler - plain and simple.
Why? Because those who are raped are oppressed by their assaulters, and so the greatest way to allow those that are victims of any kind of oppression to continue to be oppressed is to detract from the device by which they are made to suffer. In other words -obfuscation from a device of oppression is to enable the oppressor.
I hope you are all proud of yourselves.
hmmm .... so .... what was the problem again ?? are you serious about what you just said ?? coz its just a word so ....
As some one who has SIX personal friends, and one family member, who are all rape SURVIVORS - and those are the ones I know about - YES, I do take this seriously. You take rape seriously don't you. As one of the few NB rapists in here I have to say is just wow. If I were to:
*kitty rape you*
you really think I will come down to your house by kicking the door open and raping you, then I need to change careers. But please don't think someone in here really meant it. So don't be disturbed if you see me or Hells in Konoha Town or the Premium section raping members. It's just harmless lols here.

I think people are usually using the definitions listed at 4, 5, 7, and 8. Rape can mean more than than forced intercourse.
I think most people aren't even considering the other meanings, just using the word as it sounds humiliating.
No, it doesn't bother me.
Then you are a rape enabler.
I don't joke about/use in a casual manner words like murder — nor do I stand down for those that do — because that puts the victims of murder under further oppression.Ever used the word murder? Are you are murder enabler? Or maybe the word hurt, war, and many other words. Following your logic we should stop using half of the words in the dictionary because we will "enable" the people to do it. Stuff happens, and placing the words on pedestal and not using them lightly, changes nothing.
And yes, I have nothing against using the word rape, pedophile, ***, ****, and all the other bad words, I guess I'm an enabler.
Then you are a rape enabler.
I don't joke about/use in a casual manner words like murder — nor do I stand down for those that do — because that puts the victims of murder under further oppression.
Actually, if you followed the kind of moral logic that I am advocating here you would be conscious enough to understand that when you are passive about acts of war, assault, rape & murder that you stand on the side of the oppressor. This logic is the philosophy of supporting those who are victimized & oppressed — rape survivors in this instance — because they are in fact oppressed. They are oppressed by our culture — as seen here on NB, by authority & at large.
Do you understand?
This means that when you don't have a problem with some one using the word rape causally as a joke — or in a reference that takes away from the oppressive act in which the word stands for — you are a rape enabler.
So yes Pesh, you are a rape enabler. Next time you meet some one who has been brutally raped and scared for life in a way that takes away from their beautiful and natural human experience of ***, you be sure to tell them that.
