Gaara's sand is also limited whilst Hashirama can create a forest at the ready, even then he wouldn't need to as the location is already one.

This is going to be a chakra battle. Both use massive amounts of nature(wood for hashi, sand for Gaara). They can both create more too, Gaara said Kimimaro that making sand is easy for him. So Gaara will be constantly using his sand to block Hashirama's wood attacks and vice versa. I could see Hashirama winning because he is a senju and will outlast Gaara.

Seriously, Gaara can't win even if Its part I Hashi, that guy's Mokuton is so fast that he can break through a large earth wall and capture Hiruzen before Hiruzen could complete the hand seals for Summoning tech. There's also genjutsu of darkness which will bling Gaara, Gaara can depend on sensing sand but what if Hashi uses clones so that he won't know where the real Hashi is and the real Hashi hides inside Mokuton branches. Gaara's sand won't be able to withstand the Mokuton if he's attacked with it, it took multiple Rasengans to stop it when Madara used it.
