Well in chapter 602 Madara implies he gave the Rinnegan to Nagato. If that turns out to be true then the following problem arises. Since we already know that Madara awakened his Rinnegan after he already had awakened his eternal Mangekyo Sharingan then shouldn't Nagato have the Sharingan ability too? Remember Kakashi. He just got his Sharingan transplanted and could already use it.No awakening no nothing. So if Nagato had Madara's eyes then why didn't he have sharingan powers too?

Because he probably got it when it was in rinnegan form like kakashi his left eye never turns to a normal eye because it was planted wen it was in sharingan stage

I don't think that works since we saw Nagato suddenly awakening those eyes.

You are probably unable to go backwards in which ever stage the Sharingan was at when it was given to you.
So if the MS was active when it was taken out of the original owner (Itachi's case with Shisui's), then you wont be able to go back down to 3 tomoe. Or if it was a tomoe Sharingan which was taken out, then you wont be able to go back to normal eyes. But you are still able to advance to the next stages. So Nagato may have had the Sharingan implanted in him whilst it was in the Rinnegan Stage.

yeo firstly by me 2 mins after the manga came out then ppl read it and go on to pass it off as their own ideas along with many other things i talked about in my analysis of 602

imo tho its a plot hole because kakashi got obitos eye and can go back and forth from sharingan to ms and danzo and kakashi can both use the jutsu involved with they eye so its clear the eye holds the power not the user so not only that but nagato should have had access to susanoo as well

Hm, fair enough. A little cheating from Kishimoto if that's the truth but I would accept it since it makes sense.

it was not awakened. it was transplanted. madara said he awakened the rennigan before he died. but he also said he escaped death maybe when his era. but in obitos era, its really effin confusing

Well I agreed before on the "you cannot de-activate the Rinnegan" but look at this.

Nagato's parents, intent to protect their child for who they believed to be killers, died attacking the Konoha ninja who mistook them for enemy ninja. In his grief, remembering his parents' death since as the first time he felt immense pain, Nagato awakened his Rinnegan for the first time and killed the assailants.

Soon after Jiraiya began living with the orphans, Nagato and Yahiko were attacked by an Iwagakure ninja. The need to protect his friend caused Nagato to unknowingly activate his Rinnegan once again to defend Yahiko, killing the ninja. When Jiraiya found out about this, he decided to train them in ninjutsu.[6]

It is from the wiki caise I am too bored to go lookfor the exact pages in the manga. So if any of the 2 is false then sorry.

If those are true though, when did Madara give his Rinnegan to Nagato?

Those were most likely not true, Kishimoto probably made it like that on purpose to hide the facr that Nagato's Rinnegan was transplanted, cause we never saw Nagato eyes when his hair was down.

Some also say that Madara killed the leaf village shinobi, that attacked Nagato's house, and then killed his parents and gave him the Rinnegan.

Naruto.wiki talks alot of rubbish. Nagato never awakened the Rinnegan, his hair simply moved from his eyes revealing the Rinnegan. Before that, his hair had always covered his eyes so us the readers wouldn't know he had them before.

Fair enough..the inability to de-activate the Rinnegan is the key. (although it is completely ridiculous that his hair covered his eyes so well for so long so tha Jiraya..a Sannin would never notice)

Thanks for pointing that out the de-activation thing anyway. Seems to makes sense.

Yeh, the idea that his hair covered his eyes which is why noone could see his Sharingan does sound ridiculous ill admit, but Kishi was mainly hiding his eyes from us the readers more than the characters in the Manga. Its the same reason why noone (including byakugan users who can see through objects) and people who had been right in front of Tobi's face never saw Tobi's Sharingan or face, yet when he had finally revealed that he had the Sharingan to use (whilst talking to pain and Konan), Kakashi suddenly notices his Sharingan from a distance away shortly afterwards.
And no problem, that is just my theory for now anyway.
