Can you even ask a question related to the Naruto Series without...?

Ok so I've registered in this website a couple of days ago ( even though I was using it for years as a guest ) and I noticed some people getting disliked to death for simply asking a question in this way being a ''troll''.
Don't get me wrong, I know some people spam on purpose but some people are actually unaware of whatever they are asking for. Some thread aren't even asking anything yet being treated like trash. It's like everyone is so serious and having fun isn't an option.


I feared that as well so I didn't make a thread like that until now ( I though I could give it a chance and I really wanted to get the answer no matter what ).
So not even 10 sec after making the thread I instantly received 2 Dislikes to reach a total of 5 a couple of minutes later.
I'm not going to leave a name ( it's probably against the rules to name someone ) but one of them actually abuse of the system and dislikes many other thread find the in same forum.
Example:

I'm far from complaining about the Like/Dislike system but I'm using this as an argument.


Anyways, I definitely don't care about being disliked but it annoys me to get unnecessary comments calling me a ''troll'' or some even being a bit harsh.

I did a mistake which I'm now aware of, the thread seem to have been already posted before thus I should have done some research before. I'm new here and the search bar will definitely become my best friend in the future.

However, I seen other similar threads being treated the same way as mine even though they weren't a ''spam'' which mean the comments were inevitable in both cases.


This brings me to my conclusion, I'm frustrated about the fact that if I was to ask ''Did Naruto complete his writing Exam in the Chuunin Exam'', I would get assaulted with childish comments simply because most of the people already know the answer.

Something I wrote on the thread itself which I truly believe in:
I KNOW THIS WEBSITE GETS A LOT OF TRAFFIC BUT PEOPLE JUST NEED TO CHILL OUT SOME TIMES, FORUMS ARE MADE SO FANS CAN LEARN AND SHARE STUFF ABOUT THE SERIES. THIS MEANS SOME PEOPLE HAVE MORE KNOWLEDGE OF THE SERIES THAN OTHER, SOME MAYBE ARE ACTUALLY NEW BUT WHAT'S THE POINT IF AT THE INSTANT YOU CREATE A THREAD, PEOPLE CALL YOU A TROLL FOR SIMPLY ASKING A DAMN QUESTION.

Stop Getting butt-hurt over dislikes...what do they mean in the great scheme of things? it's not like they affect your rep or anything.

Some of you are easily getting the wrong idea, I could care less about the dislike button unless it could get me banned or something.
Like I said, it's simply annoying get these lame comments, some are even from people that actually seem to be known over the forums.
Believe me, none of all of that is personally affecting me.

I wanted to make my own one sharing my own view and experience of the situation.

Why ask an obvious question? unless you want to annoy people.

I doubt the question would be really obvious but even then I don't see a restriction saying ''You must have a huge knowledge of the series to register here''.
If it makes some people mad don't bother posting in the thread. Simple as that!

I want to try and make the experience for everyone better and being treated like this the second day (could have been in the first day actually ) makes you want to leave.
I won't feed the trolls so I'm most likely not going to leave since even among those fools, some are really nice.

I will suggest you not to worry about petty matters such as dislikes or likes in a post. It doesn't take your rep away or cause you any damage. If it becomes a bigger issue, administrators will probably end up taking it off and changing things.​

Their dislikes don't mean a thing so don't bother with them.

The "like/Dislike" system does exactly what's intended of it: It enables members to register their opinion of a persons thread. Simple as that.

This said, there will always be people who don't like your threads or people who will like them. Its not a reason to be annoyed or aggravated or to assume the system is working wrong. The world is not pink and fluffy and removing the dislike option would serve no real purpose except to camouflage people's real opinions.

So, take the dislike and like options as they are: opinions. Nothing more. And if you find abusive behavior from a member in terms of the dislike system, like the ones mentioned, report it and we will take care of it. ^^
