after few days of thinking.. i think I came up with an idea how madara could of gotten the rinnegan.. for some reason I couldnt edit my old post to add this to it so, I'll put it here for all to see.
As we'v seen before, the So6P divided his powers in two, uchiha gained his strong chakras and eyes. senju gained his strong life force and body. So assuming to this senju DNA has absolutely nothing to do with awakening the rinnegan. so the senju gained the yang chakra, and the uchiha the yin. and while the generations went on, the blood thinned, and thus the rinnegan like eyes turned into sharingan.
To be able to upgrade all the way, you'd need a rare potential in your DNA. and the reason why it's a rare potential is, you need X ammount of certain genes, and not everyone carries even a fragment of that. But somehow Madaras parents carries those genes, mother half, and father half, and just happened to be so madara got them all. unlocking the possibility of gaining it.
with this I mean that two white persons have a possibility of gaining a black baby if somewhere along the family tree there are black people..
Now we all know madara had his EMS way before the fight on valley of the death, and just like the sharingan evolves with its tomoes, till the third tomoe.. and we know you need a stress to unlock MS.. So With this; What if you need that rare DNA pool, EMS to "evolve" a bit further, and on top of that you still need somekind of stress, to activate that DNA pool awakening the rinnegan..
