“I’m running. I don’t care where I’m going all I know is that I need to get out of here as soon as possible” Panda muttered encouragingly to herself as sirens blared and the barking of dogs was heard in the distance. She had just escaped prison after weeks of prepping and planning her escape. She could only thank her longtime childhood friend, Nimmy. Nimmy was a security guard in the prison who helped Panda concoct her master plan of jail break. Normally, this goes against all of the security guard codes, but Nimmy found the reason for Panda’s imprisonment to be absurd. After all, she only set her ex-boyfriend on fire; and he only suffered minor injuries at the most. So, Nimmy could not let her childhood friend rot in a jail cell. And knowing Panda’s past made her all the more sympathetic toward her friend. Panda’s past had been a long and colorful one when it came to men. Because she has had such bad luck with them since she started dating, she lost interest in men all together and instead became a lesbian. She even had a girlfriend waiting for her back home named Bluecy. This thought pushed her even further in her running.
Panda was so absorbed in her thoughts that she hadn't noticed how far she had run. The sirens sounded like soft beeps now, and the barking dogs were far behind. Finally catching her breath, Panda slumps against the wall and begins to think. Now that I'm out of that god forsaken place, I need to find a place to stay out of sight for a while. Noticing a near- by coffee shop, she decides to rest there. After ordering a drink, Panda notices that a news report flashes on the TV, showing her face and giving a full report on how she had just broken out of prison and was wanted for arson. Humph, she thought, now they're just being over-dramatic. He deserved it anyway. Luckily, it seemed as though the volume was too low for people nearby to hear the broadcast, and no one seemed interested in the slightest.
She started to relax, until suddenly a man from across the room began approaching her. Oh no, thought Panda, he noticed the report. I'm going to have to make a run for it. Panda's body was tensing up; her legs were poised, ready to spring the second he got close enough. Closer… closer… closer…. This is it, she thought. Beginning to worm her way out of her seat, Panda was taken by surprise when the man merely sat down in the chair across from her. "Hello," he said. Shocked, panda played along. "Hey," she said. The man looked nervous, as though he had stage fright. Panda thought he just wanted to look as though he had company when suddenly, as though he couldn't contain himself any longer, he excitedly stumbled over his words, “I noticed you across the room, and you are the loveliest creature I have ever laid my eyes upon. I think I am in love with you." In total disbelief, Panda just stared blankly at the man. Was this a joke? Who blatantly makes a declaration of love like that? Panda knew she had to speak even though her mind was full of confusion. She picked her words carefully. "Well… I am flattered, but I am only in town temporarily. Visiting my boyfriend." And burning him, she jokingly thought to herself. The man looked disappointed by the news of her having a boyfriend, but remained optimistic, "how about coffee sometime, then?" Panda doesn't know why, but it is clear he didn't get the message. However, she needed to leave quickly because she could hear dogs closing in on her in the distance. "I would love to, but I'm afraid I have to leave very soon. Tonight, actually. So it was nice to meet you." Panda quickly gets up and leaves the coffee shop, taking the direction farthest from the yapping dogs. Where to? Thought Panda. After a moment of debate, it hit her... Canada.
