why did obito attack konoha with the nine tails ?

how it all happened is kind of clear now but only a couple of questions left like: what is madara's plan and how did madara live that long ??

now my question is why did obito attack konoha when he fought minato :shrug: ??
i mean am i the only one that thinks this move is pointless and way of their kind of clear plan. was he seeking revenge from minato for allowing something like the death of rin to happen ??

It would be quite something if it was ''just'' to make Villagers think that Uchihas were behind the attack, so that's why they couldn't be trusted anymore and Uchiha massacre would happen sooner or later. If that is the case, the plan was successful.

Well I think what most likely happened was that they knew the best time to steal Kurama was when Kushina was in labor which proved to be true. They also knew they were not ready to add Kurama to the Gedo Maz as we know that the tailed beasts have to be added in a specific order. So I think the plan was to steal Kurama but the only way they could ensure that they would not be attacked again and the leaf try to take Kurama back was to destroy the leaf. This would also have the added benefit of pushing the other countries into war and sending out their jin's to battle which would make them easier to capture. I think Tobi did not plan on Minato being able to break his control over Kurama and then being able to defeat him in battle. It was his arrogance that was his downfall.

ok heres my answer i cant say everything is true but this is just a theory. Obito attacked the village with the nine tails to breed ill will between the uchiha clan and the village of konoha. Which he was successful in doing and that led to the massacre ordered by the higher ups of the village. I believe he did it to get rid of fighting any other uchiha that would be raised to fight him in the future because we all know to beat a sharigan you need a sharigan. very sloppy but we have limited information at the moment i feel the next few chapters will clear everything up.

I agree with this, Tobi was unknown at this time, Akatuski wasn't really around either at this time, or if they were they weren't a huge threat. I mean It seems legitimate enough to attack the village when Kushina is giving birth, he can slip in with his sharingan very easily and with the seal weakened it's the perfect time. When you think about it, had it not been for Minato he would have succeeded with the plan...no one else at the time, not even Hiruzen could have handled Obito's advanced s/t technique on top of the nine tails running a muck.

His over confidence led to his downfall and the plan back fired.

i actually said that the pervysage69 wrote a great explanation, but the plan was for obito to gather the bijuus right ?? so why didn't he take the nine tails and get out of there ?? why did he go to face minato (risk a fight with a high kage level shinobi) when its got nothing to do with his plan ?? coz even with pervysage69 explanation, i can't find a really convincing reason to why that happened
