So he plans to use a worldwide genjutsu that will turn the moon into a mind-controlling Sharingan, right?

But here's what I don't get. Once he attains the power to get it, won't he have to wait until the moon comes out to actually use the jutsu, putting himself on defense mode against any approachers until then?

And then once he does do it, the moon is still always moving... won't that mean that he'll only be under control for a few hours until the sun comes out, and then he'll have to wait again to use it?

And then will this be like Itachi's genjutsu where you'll just have to avoid looking at the moon (or his eyes) to avoid being caught by it?

Going back to my second question, since there's more hours of daylight than moonlight, wouldn't that actually end in his disadvantage?

I don't mean for these to be dumb questions, but just asking.. unless he plans on using an artificial moon or 4 different illusional moons to cover all 360 degrees of the earth at once so he will never lose control, because that would make a lot more sense

I think he plans to keep the world in a frozen state under the Tuskyomi, remember that time in there is different, seconds seem like days.

I think he is merely using the moon to project it and once it has affected them, they stay that way.

Here's a little something for you:

He'll never get to complete his plan because he's gonna lose!

I think it's a one shot thing. You see it once and you are trapped forever

He needs the moon so he can reflect the genjustu across a wide enough plain so everyone will be caught in it.
Any other time tsukiyomi is cast the user never had to continuously state at his opponent once your in the tsukiyomi that is pretty much it.

You're not understanding it. The moon will come out and after that is when he will use the genjutsu. Once someone is placed under genjutsu it's hard to get out of and damn near impossible if it's Tsukuyomi. He won't have a need for the moon after the genjutsu is placed because everyone will look and be placed and then that's it.

Here's my best explanation...

If we look at the Naruto world map:
You must be registered for see images

It's really not that large a place, based on how fast people are traveling across it.

Given this, we can say that when the moon is in position, it is visible to the entire landmass. Additionally, with the power of the rinnegan, one could theoretically keep the moon stationary relative to the earth.

To provide theory's and Opinions, ultimately no one knows anything for a fact until Kishi tells it to be true.
Just saying Kishi will explain is the answer to everything Naruto related.

Have the discussion, it won't kill anyone.

Why not just ignoring the moon then?
