Filler to Canon Characters?

Is there such thing as where a filler character from Anime Only, makes it into the Manga as a semi important character?

I want to say Utakata the former 6 tails jinchiriki, but that requires further confirmation on my part

Note: I only watch Anime until recently yea I only know the whole Tobi thing.

Utakata became a manga character but i don't think there's another example really, i've seen the whole anime (part 2).

I think Utakata was the only really good example of this. He was never in the manga until the war, but the anime obviously showed him earlier then that. I honestly cant think of anyone else.

I think he's the only one that went from a filler to the manga.


The creator of One Piece, if they make a filler character with special powers, and he wants to use that power later on in the manga, He won't let them use it as a filler.


Not sure if Kishi does the same. The filler character has had some badass tech that would be nice in the manga.
