Official VIZ scan says the Senju clan was touted as being the strongest. Though from feats alone, the Uchiha clan has possessed the more powerful members but that is because we are yet to see the Senju's capabilities.

If I remember correctly, Senju were just more known than the Uchiha Clan. Even though Madara lost to Hashirama, it doesn't mean that the Senju as a whole is stronger than the Uchiha.

I doubt it, I use to think the uchiha were hype back in part 1 I thought all they could fo was predict movements genjutsu and copy, Kishi proved me horrible wrong, the uchiha are no one to be messed with. If he says the senju are stronger then we have to agree with the author. He can prove you horribly wrong.

I hate this uchiha vs senju war that nb and other naruto forums have taken. However nobody can deny that currently the uchiha are on another level and edo madara or current tobi powers most likely rivals the sage's sons. Far above hashirama's powers. Either uchiha would defeat hashirama. Secondly even if you look right now and compare the living uchiha's to the living senju, its obvious that obito wipes the floor with tsunade and the same can be said about sasuke. Its not very hard to wrap around your head that the uchiha are currently on a different level.

However before current events they were called equal. Its been said that if one organisation hires the senju, the rival, hires the uchiha because only they could stand toe to toe with them.

We know nothing about the clan as a whole. We know about 5 of the Shinobi with Uchiha's powers, and we know only 2 of the real Senju. It is inaccurate to say next to anything about a dead clan and one that is next to dead. Especially when it's two strongest members are *ahem* also dead.
