How did Madara beat the Shinobi Alliance.

The Shinobi Alliance has been running to Naruto's battlefield since issu 573, that's nearly 30 chapters they've been running as fast as they can to get their and according to Shikamaru they were almost there.

Madara was last shown in 591 still fighting the Kage's who seemed to still have a fair amount of fight left in them especially Tsunade who just spoke with Dan, this is AFTER the entire fight between Kabuto and Itachi (with Sasuke watching)

No matter how fast Madara is there should be no reason that he beat the alliance to that point.

Unfortunately this is probably the best answer I'm going to get, I can accept all the Obito plotholes but I can't except that Madara is the fastest character in the Manga by such a margin it takes him minutes to defeat the 5 kage's and get to the Next battlefield miles away faster than the Alliance who has been running for hours.

Maybe he traveled the same way Zetsu travels(assuming that kind of traveling belongs to Mokuton). It takes time but would be faster than running there. Or fly with the Rinnegan since he came from the sky.

I doubt that he can travel like Zetsu but at least you're thinking outside of the box, I would'nt put it past him to be able to fly now with infinite chakra and Rinnengan but I don't believe it would make him that much faster.

If he killed everyone the show would be pretty much over with only 4 Shinobi alive + the Shinobi asigned to special teams like Barrier team and those at HQ.

Perhaps there is a simple answer. Maybe the kage fight was actually quite close to naruto's position, and the rest of the alliance were much further away.
People also move slower in large groups than when they travel alone or in small packs.
