But I highly doubt that everything he said was a lie. Even if he were trying to "manipulate" Sasuke that doesn't mean he was lying.

Anyone can tell lies, but a truly good manipulator will trick you using the truth.

maybe not all he was saying was lies but his mind tricks were extreme to where kabuto just felt like itachi was just lying or telling kabuto nonsense.

Itachi was not being controlled by Shisu's Mangekyou Sharingan, he GAVE it to Itachi and it was Itachi who put that order ''Protect Konoha'' in it to controll Sasuke so that he wouldn't destroy it...
