Yes, he did kill his clan(calculated decision) which Naruto would have refused and found another way or tried at least.

But, he released edo tensei. saving possibly a LOT of ninjas.

Now it's pretty much obito and madara vs everyone
(still can't figure out what orochimaru is up to)

but yeah I think Itachi has redeemed himself so he shouldn't beat himself up too much in the afterlife

Wait... shouldn't you have concluded this a long time ago? Itachi did in fact save a lot of lives.Even back then he had no choice it was either ALL of the Uchiha clan dead OR all of then BUT saving his brother...The massacre of the clan was going to happen either way, Itachi just chose the one where the smallest number of people would die and save his brother in the process.

the only one powerful one was madara. besides, madara would've done that either way. he knew how to release edo tensei.
