[Discussion] Madara or Nagato's rinnegan

During Naruto manga chapter 509, Obito posing as Madara claimed to have given Nagato the rinnegan. Many people believe it was Madara and not obito who gave Nagato the rinnegan because of the timeline paradox; Obito wouldn't have been born when Nagato was a kid. However, some people do believe it was Obito because they believe he has the ability to travel back in time.

We all saw when Nagato lost both his parents, he used his rinnegan. I first believed that because of the pain he felt, this is when he awoke his rinnegan. We know that Nagato then went on to join Jiraya and trained under him. Therefore, my question is that if Madara/Obito gave Nagato the rinnegan before his parents death, why would Nagato keep it a secret from Jiraya. Jiraya knew of Nagatos rinnegan and praised him on several occasions. During this time Nagato was very timid and didn't like killing people at all.

Also, it seems to me like Madara was very reliant on Nagato. Madara said he had a plan to be revived and expected to be revived through Rinne Tensei.

My question is did Obito intend for Nagato to resurrect Madara? he didn't seem to concerned when Nagato died. What did Obito intent to ressurect with the heavenly life technique? I don't think Madara was essential for the moons eye plan because Kabuto was an unintended ally.

You can't say that, his hair was covering his eyes at all times to make it LOOK LIKE he awakened it; Kishi does this all the time...

I think Madara gave it to him, remember Tobi was posing as Madara so everything Madara did, Tobi passed of as his own. Remember the first thing Madara said when he got back. "That little brat Nagato must have grown" indicating he knows him.

If Madara gave Nagato the rinnegan when he was a kid, why didn't nagato tell Jiraya? Furthermore, Madara said he awoke his rinnegan shortly before his death. If so, how does he know Obito?

He unlocked the Rinnegan shortly before his death, but it's pretty concrete to me that he was alive up until "Tobi" attacked Konoha. Excuse me for saying so, but Obito could in no way have pulled off the fight against Minato. It's possible that Zetsu was orchestrating things at that point, and Madara hadn't revived Obito, yet. Simply due to the fact that Obito would still be too young.
