Wrong, Obito wouldn't have been old enough. You gotta think, he is younger than Nagato. Nagato was a child in the 2nd war. Obito was a child in the 3rd. Jiraiya trained Nagato and Nagato eventually learned how to use it. Madara may have given it to him, but not Obito.

Nagato and obito is the same age as one another. Just because he didn't participate in the 2rd war doesn't mean he wasn't born. Think about it the white fang was a lil older than the Sannin an we know kakashi was born and jumping around

Tobi OR Madara (probably Madara, since edo madara knew Nagato's name) gave Nagato the Rinnegan.

Tobi definately taught Nagato how to further use the Rinnegan (Paths of Pein).

Is it really hard to understand and read what was going on in the Manga? Konan still thought Tobi was Madara and Tobi was still portraying to be Madara. He said that he gave Nagato the Rinnegan(The REAL Madara gave Nagato the Rinnegan). Tobi is just portraying to be him. Just like he did with Sasuke. Just like how he told that story of how he stole Hashirama's powers and the little history about combining them both in return grants you the ultimate technique which is COAT.

Nagato's time as a kid was in the 2nd ninja war. Obito's was in the 3rd. Do you see where I'm going with this? Some time after the 3rd Ninja war, Tobi traded places with Madara and Madara finally died off I guess. The time line is just so messed up. But the real Madara gave Nagato HIS Rinnegan before he died. If you remember when Madara was revived he said "So that BRAT Nagato managed to grow". This means that the last time Madara seen Nagato is when he was still a young boy which conflicts on how he knows Obito by name and image I guess.

Why was Tobi Scared of Madara?

Before the War, kabuto revived Madara via through Edo Tensei

Was Tobi scared of Madara because of how powerful he'd be this way when he gets revived? If Tobi and Madara are related in any way or are team mates or villians, did Tobi want Madara to be revived another way? If so does Tobi want something from Madara?

Just seems weird, maybe its because Tobi was posing as Madara and this happened too sudden?

@Meekz tell me when was the akatsuki formed? To my understanding, akatsuki was used in the 3rd war by other villages and Nagato was a lot older than obito at that time

Perhaps because he knows Kabuto could have used him to stop him, forcing him to make an alliance.

After all, Madara is like the Chuck Norris, Samuel L Jackson and Queen Elizabeth of Naruto.

i think he was supposed to be brought back with rinne re birth and when kabuto made him edo it posed a threat to tobi possibly having to fight a edo madara.

he wasn't scared it's just that he was supposed to be posing as madara and when kabuto revived him everyone would know he wasn't madara.
also the plan messed up a little bit when nagato used rinne tensei on konoha so he might have to explain what happened to the plan

@Zato madara said he died after he awakened the rinnegan and he knows obito, but Nagato had the rinnegan in the second great war. So how can he have madara's eyes?

he was more angry than scared because of kabuto now he's disguise as madara was in danger.. after he heard that "another madara is on battlefield" he started to call himself as no one.Because then he knew he was succeeded in most of actions he had to do as "madara" he's role in this plan was..

1. Start a war
2. "use madaras name" to spread fear to ninja villages
3. Make nagato use he's rinnegan technique to revive madara and start preparing ending of da world.
4. and capture 8/9tails before reviving madara, well he got both's chakra little.. and now they just try to deal with narutos group as team. :y

Tobi was probably more surprised that Kabuto found his DNA and was planning on using Madara against him. I don't think he was actually scared.

I think Tobi was too confident, and thought he could kill everyone just with weak Zetsus (dont forget that Kabuto gave powerup to zetsus)

I do give Kabuto credit but I think you are either or even both giving Tobi too little credit and/or Kabuto too much.

Tobi obviously had backup plans for Madara's revival hence why he was so interested in how Naruto is able to turn Nagato on him and I think when Tobi reaches Nagato's body and says those things about betrayal as you brought up, Tobi/Obito was just in a state of shock that he had to use Izanagi, almost died and all to get something that "Belonged to him" and/or Madara to begin with AKA I think he was just realizing how much of a thorn in their side Naruto was going to be hence why Madara also left the 5-Kage battle as well. Also on top of that Kabuto, as I would theorize, probably got tricked the entire time AKA Tobi pretending to be shocked at Madara's body in the coffin because it doesn't take a genius to see Kabuto was show-boating and it was only a matter of time which just as well Tobi probably saw Sasuke/Itachi going after him or for that matter someone strong enough to kill Kabuto because he allowed Tobi to roam freely and hiddenly while Kabuto made himself the CENTER of the war.

I am at work so I will definitely edit this later and throw in some proof and/or more portraying what I wrote, but for now as I stated I think Kabuto should have not gone to Obito/Tobi giving up all of his plans/information because he could have definitely lasted longer not playing pawn to Tobi/Obito and launching his own attack to get what he wanted all along...Sasuke's Body.

P.S. - Anyone else think Madara did to Obito what Itachi did to Sasuke AKA "bestow" the powers on to him?
