If he opens the 8th gate I dont think it would be in vain. I really believe he would cause Madara or Obito a lot of damage. He's gonna go all out for the youth of the Shinobi world, and once he dies Kakashi will get pissed and the "Little White Fang" will go all out. That's what i think anyway.
