Kabuto lies

Kabuto said that none of the current ninja can compete with hashirama but when he fights itachi and sasuke he says that he is the strongest ninja since the sage of 6 paths. So he either believes that hashirama was stronger than the sage of 6 paths or he was lying when he said one of those statements. Any thoughts?

He is stating that hashirama is stronger than anybody in the allied forces and that he himself is second only to the sage of six paths. The two statement do not contridict each other
