[classical music] By far, my favorite Shostakovich's symphony.

Six years ago, in 2006, the 100th anniversary of Dmitri D. Shostakovich's birth was celebrated (also it was the 250 years of Mozart's birth). Our public radio station celebrated both dates with several special transmissions. In one of them, I listened 5th Shostakovich symphony. I was impressed by such an amazing piece of music.
About this masterpiece, Shostakovich wrote in his memoirs: "I'll never believe that a man who understood nothing could feel the Fifth Symphony. Of course they understood, they understood what was happening around them and they understood what the Fifth was about."

Probably, one of the best interpretations

i listen to modern classical like giovanni allevi yiruma

I don't think Shostakovich's music can be considered old, but it's ok. I've never listened to Giovanni cause in our public radio stations they transmit what they at hand. For example, RadioUNAM has conventions with chinese education institutions, so they transmit some chinese classical music.
I don't think our university has a convention with Italy:shrug:
