Idk much for manga but I have a list of Anime and some most likely have mangas to accompany. BTW I reccomend watching Akira Kurosawa movies, not animation but still awesome.

Go watch / read One Piece and you have what is probably the best manga ever, if you like the style of naruto/bleach/fairy tail, you will love One Piece.

Wanna try something which differs very much from these stories with a hero and a happy ending, try Death Note, not too long, and it's finished so there is no need to wait for new every week.

Else I can also suggest The Alchemist, which is also done, and sort of reminds of the naruto/bleach/fairy tail genre. It also has anime, and it's really good.
