You sure?.. I was thinking about Chidori..

When Sasuke used Chidori against the the Raikage, he said he was using it for extra penetration.

Wouldn't that work with the lightning armor since it's lightning chakra surrounding the hand? Or is it different?

Its different because the lightning shroud is a defensive/supplementary type jutsu used to boost his speed and give him resistance to lightning based techniques.

raikage is like the forth fastest of all time
one hit and nejis out

This is just A vs rotation. Not A vs Neji.

"He has also shown the ability to focus lightning chakra into a point sharp enough to neatly cut through human limbs."

This a quote from the naruto wiki under the description on V1 and V2, so it is possible he can do a chidori or hell stab-like attack. But, this is from the wiki, so you can take that info as you will.

I see. It is true since he did use it to cut off his arm, but he prefers to use brute force rather than a chidori/hellstab-like attack like his father. Even then the rotating chakra would still knock the lightning chakra away and only allow him a few more inches.

well i think it pretty much comes down to whether the rotation will throw the attack off course, but given raikage's speed i don't think this will be possible

The velocity of the raikages attack would help him gain a few inches into the dome, but the constant ejection and rotation would reduce the impact and deflect the blow.

i see your point both raikage's raiton amour and neji's rotation eject chakra but the rotation is key i guess the final conclusion is that raikage will go through the dome but the attack will not touch neji because of the rotation, it is safe to say neji's rotation benefits more in the end.

but it doesn't mean neji wins against raikage just saying :p

anyway i was wrong rotation wins

I like this. I was taking A's side for arguments sake but wasn't really sure in the beginning, but now I feel like I'm in the middle. The rotation will be disrupted, which gives respect to A and the power of his V2, but it also gives some respect to Neji for his defensive abilities that outclass Sasuke's Susano is some aspects.

Here, Neji's defense is said to be greater than Gaara's. So what exactly does that imply? What I'm trying to say is, how strong then, is Gaara's defense?

You must be registered for see images

Gaara's defense was capable of stopping a C3 explosion. However, that was a large amount of sand, so it's safe to say that a C2 explosion would be inferior Neji's rotation.

You must be registered for see images

Clearly, it could stop a C2 explosion, as Gaara stopped it as well.

So, how strong is a punch from the Raikage? To be fair in this, I'm going to compare A's punch to a C2 explosion.

A punch from A can destroy a cliff.

A C2 explosion can do the same thing.

So what does that tell us?

C2=A's punch

C2=Gaara's defense

Therefore, A's punch =Gaara's defense

Neji's defense>Gaara's defense

So, all in all, rotation can withstand A's strongest punch.

+rep to you both though, that was an interesting read :D

Edit: My images are broken, I'll fix em' real quick.

Not sure if I fixed them or not, but I put links below them so it's all good xd

Wow +rep for the great comparisons!

Anyways, the difference between the two defenses is that Gaaras is a continuous/offensive wall defense while Nejis is a continuous stationary rotating defense. They each have their weaknesses, though Gaara's defense has more weaknesses as a trade-off for offensive power since he can manipulate the sand to attack as well.

Neji's defense is stationary, but since is a rotating defense, it can take much more damage than a wall type jutsu since the combination of ejecting and rotating chakra from the centrifugal forces reduces the impact and deflects the blows that are given.

Gaaras Sand (auto-defense)
Pros:
Offensive capabilities
Always active
Protects from all sides

Cons:
Can be bypassed by very fast shinobi
Enough force in any area can break it
Can be broken by penetrating jutsus
Can be broken by a massive scale attack

Rotation
Pros:
Protects user from all sides
size and power of dome can be adjusted by the user at will
continuously reflects attacks

Cons:
requires user to spin to be effective
can be broken by drilling type jutsus
can be broken by a massive scale attack
takes a significant amount of chakra to use

Overall, rotation is the more powerful defense, but gaaras sand is more versatile since it is always active and can be used offensively.

Yeah, apart the manga saying his defense was better, his defense is pure chakra. Like Susanoo. Of course Susanoo is stronger, but it's the same concept. It just sort of flows with the idea of the power the MS can grant you.

If I where to make a guess, I would say Rotation=Rib Cage. Of course, that's all speculation on my part :/

Well the susanoo is the stationary/offensive wall defense

Its a bit like gaaras sand though with some of its weaknesses and those of the rotation

Susanoo(Sasuke/Itachi)
Pros:
protects the user from almost all sides
has offensive capabilities
size and power can be adjusted by the user at will

Cons:
user is susceptable to attacks from below
uses large amounts of chakra
enough force in any area can break it
can be broken by a massive scale attack
increases blindness in a non-EMS user

Susanoo is very powerful since it has offensive capabilities, protects the user from all sides and becomes more powerful with each added layer.

On the down side, it takes a heavy amount of chakra to use and can cause permanent blindness if used too much. It can also be broken with significant force and the user can be attacked from below or pulled out of the susanoo itself.

So its stationary, uses large amounts of chakra, and the power can be controlled like rotation, but has offensive capabilities and can be broken like the sand defense.

If we were to compare the most powerful versions of each defense in terms of strictly defensive capability, if would go like this:

1)Rotation
2)Susanoo(Itachi/Sasuke)
3)Gaaras Sand

Rotation overall is simply more powerful in many aspects than both the susanoo and the sand due to the type of defense it is and has fewer weaknesses to take it down.

If we were to go with offensive capability it would go like this:
1)Gaaras Sand
2)Susanoo(Itachi/Sasuke)
3)Rotation

Gaaras sand can be used freely since this type of defense is automatic and is not restricted to being stationary like the other two.

Susanoo would be the in-between with great offensive and defensive capabilties.
