Need help with phone?

I recently bought a Lg800g tracfone from walmart. I wanted to put songs on the phone so I could listen to music on it, so I purchased a USB data/charge cable.
I tried connecting the phone to my computer, the phone would charge fine, but the computer wouldn't recognize it as a USB. Any help would be appreciated. :shrug:

Your phone is not recognized as a portable device. A portable device like a external HDD or USB stick installs its own drivers when you first plug it in to your PC. But your phone does not do that. So you will have to either find an installation CD or you can buy yourself a Micro SD card(4gb or less) for it to be detected.
