Itachi's perception on jiraiya and orochimaru

Just wondering what Itachi thinks of legendary sannins..!!!

when Itachi and kisame came to Konoha, the akatsuki duo learn that Jiraiya was Naruto's guardian. Itachi tells kisame if they fight jiraiya, there is no chance of winning, in worst case could end up killing each other..

while being the member of akatsuki, orochimaru tries to acquire itachi's body, Itachi counters by genjutsu and proclaims that before his sharingan none of orochimaru's jutsu would work..

It always been shown in the manga that orochimaru was genius from the beginning and stronger than jiraiya. But still Itachi sees only Jiraiya as such a big opponent. was he lying to kisame ?!!!

Go search up the Viz Translation of the Manga. They were referring to Naruto with the Kyuubi, NOT Jiraiya. You SERIOUSLY think a Jiraiya back then who had shown no Sage Mode was gonna get past Tsukuyomi + Ama? LOL.

He did not want to fight to Naruto and Jiraiya and possibly sasuke. He only showed himself to make danzou inform he is still guarding sasuke after 3rd's death, sorry ı could not find the manga chapter but you can search. Tobi was telling them to sasuke

Nigga did you really get on this dudes thread to be a bitch? **** off, Hitachi didn't say shit about naruto with 9 tails and at that point itachi could put naruto in a genjutsu easy and he'd be out of the fight. Not to mention jiraiya wouldn't let naruto fight in that type of fight. And its obvious jiraiya is strong because even nagato seemed to thing that pain would have lost if jiraiya knew his secret. And who are you to say he didn't have sage mode back then

Itachi did lie to Kisame because that fight was meaningless. Itachi and Kisame only traveled to Konoha because of Hiruzens death and to tell Konoha about there presence and not to capture Naruto. So he was never going to engage in battle with a tough opponent like Jiraiya. Jiraiya would give Itachi a tough time if they fought but Itachi would win in the end and Itachi+Kisame would beat Jiraiya no problem. Another reason Itachi would not fight Jiriaya because he would overuse his MS and we all no thats dangerous for him. Itachi was saving his MS for the fight with Sasuke so if he did engage in battle with Jiriaya there would be no Sasuke fight.
