no its an assumption because its a water style technique and he has water style and they are assuming he copied it in the fight vs zabuza.

I think there is a part in the fight against Zabuza where he said something like he is a specialist in silent kill, but that Zabuza is even better than him. Anyway you can see it against Kakuzu where he killed him once before he could even react or notice
