You heard his voice on anime, and when that particular episode was made tobi's identity was yet to be revealed. I don't think the the people who were creating anime knew the true identity of tobi.
I am not saying that obito is tobi, maybe he, is but in manga the is a question mark in the end (if translation been done right). I guess we just have to wait for the next manga.

I doubt that they would have an entire, dialogue-less chapter about Obito's past if it was not him... That said, I am sure there is more to it, but it is him and this was the easy way out for Kishi.
He wrote himself into a corner.

You are free to go, as everyone else who shares your opinion. Normal people around here who appreciate all the work Kishi has done by far and the fact that we are reading the manga for free are the ones who have my appreciation. Close minded douchebags like this, who don't even try to look further into the plot, who bitch upon the first sight of Obito's face and fail to realize that this just opens a whole bunch of new questions, won't be missed. Not by fans here, not by Kishi, not by anyone. So fu*k off. All the true fans here, excuse my language.

Well it wasn't a boring chapter... it was far better then the orochimaru "well now that the plot needs me lets hop back in" come back.
I think there might be a twist to Obito (well there MUST be a twist) and that it won't be as clearly cut as it seems to be at this time.
As a Tobi fan yes i am annoyed by this turn of events however to me Tobi's character has been dead since the "he is Madara!" episodes began.
I also think that the chapter could have been better but that's really just a matter of taste. One think that particularly pissed me off was that the very episode is called Obito! yes i know that by the chapters contents made is rather obvious but to simply read the chapters name to know whats going to happen is makes this episode more disappointing then it should have been which leads me to think that there really is going to be a plot twist with such an obvious way to say that Tobi was Obito.
I will not stop reading the Manga for this episode because i think that this episode along with a few recent ones have been great and revived the Manga for me and for those who want to stop reading the manga i can only say this: Really??! one chapter before chapter 600?!! If you read 599 episodes you might make the effort to read chapter 600.

You have to be weak, before you become strong. Almost every character in the manga was weak when they were Obito's age. Are you saying Kakashi is not cool, because without Obito he wouldn't even be what he is now.
Darth Vader is one of the coolest villains of all time, but when he was demasked what could we see - a pale, old man. That didn't made him any less great. If the character doesn't show any weaknesses than to me-it is a lame character. Faults are what makes as human, and what makes great characters real and believable.
