Everyone hold your horses, wait till Tobi actually responds before we confirm that it's the same Obito. It could be someone body surfing and using Obito's body.

If this is the case, then we can eliminate Kagami, Setsuna and all the rest from the list because they would still be alive.

IMO it's either:

1) Actually Obito
2) Izuna Body surfing
3) The elder son body surfing

There's obviously a piece of the puzzle we're missing.

My final guess is the following:

Madara found and saved Obito, and began to train him under his wing. Long Haired masked man was the real Madara, while short haired masked man is Obito. Long Haired Masked man controlled the Mizukage, at which point Madara had met Kisame.

Through affiliation, Kisame became aware of Obito's training. Kisame may have helped train Obito at some point, who knows.

When Tobi takes off his mask to reveal himself to Kisame, he says:
"Well that's interesting. I would've never suspected you were Tobi. I mean, Madara. "

^ Wait, what? Kisame has seen the masked man before(Mizukage control reveal), but this new masked man, with a near identical mask, isn't the same person he had met before? This, to me, is the biggest indication that there were indeed two different masked men.

We've never seen Long Haired Masked Man display the S/T technique, only the short haired version. After Madara passed away, Obito likely took over the mask to honor his teacher/savior.

You beat me to it, Madara was most likely the one who controlled the 4th Mizukage.

He's not Obito. He just has Obito's body.

-Madara knows him, and he died before Obito was born.

-He said he gave Nagato the Rinnegan. If Obito was even born by the time Nagato awakened his rinnegan, he was a kid.

-When he extracted the Kyuubi from Kushina, he said something like "do you have ANY idea how long I've been waiting for this?" He's obviously been waiting a while (decades, at least) and is obviously pretty old.

-He called Konan, who's like 40, a "little girl" or something like that. Which, again, means that he's old.

-He knows too much (all about Madara, all about S06P, etc). Don't see how Obito can know all the shit Tobi does.

It's pretty obvious Tobi isn't Obito. That would just leave too many major plot holes.

Did uchiha madara really died before obito was born?

He portraits himself as the true madara that's why he said "i gave nagato those eyes" meaning madara did. That's why he said "do you know how long I waited for this?" meaning madara waited.

The reason he knows so much is because uchiha madara was his care taker and teacher.

Plus, he had MS to read the uchiha tablet and perhaps the rinnegan to reveal even more of the uchiha tablet. This is why uchiha itachi spotted tobi going in and out of the secret hideout of the uchiha tablet.

tobi likely a creation or older uchiha clansmen to explain association with madara. I think it will be revealed as such so. Otherwise, tobi is two different people and one of them is obito. One of these two scenarios likely to happen.

I kind of anticipated this, like i said if tobi is obito, there has to be two different people wearing the mask to explain how obito and madara knew each other as kishi mentioned. This manga doesnt really change anything cause there is alot of explaining to do and raises alot of question. Tobi could still be someone else if obito body is being used or someone helped obito become tobi.
I am not still convinced tobi solely as obito, cause kishi has to explain several loopholes.

Tobi said that he had given the eye to nagato, but still, is to go through madara
if madara knows nagato, he said when he was revived with edo tensei.

Obito was trained by someone strong
orochimaru, saved the life of obito
achievement rebuild their right with zetsus

who think zetsu was orochimaru with harishama cells, given by madara (if madara gave no cells to orochimaru, then madara saved the life of obito)
I'm not sure but I think that there is someone who knows more to madara or obito madara he met

just missing that part, as you know both madara

now they say it is a clone, or just the body of obito

Here are the loopholes, if someone could explain these loopholes i would be convinced tobi is obito

1. Madara died shortly after awakening his rinngean when nagato was a child. Nagato is similar age to minato as he was child when jariya was young. If madara existed around nagato childhood time how did he meet obito as kishi mentioned? Obito never existed around that time.

2.Tobi claims he gave rinnegan to nagato. If tobi was obito, wouldnt be likely be able to as obito never existed when nagato would have been a very young child.

3. How did obito control ninetails and mizukage so effortlessly. Obito couldnt have been a genutsu prowess in short period of time to control mizukage.

4. During the ninetails attack, obito was only a teen and how did obito control ninetails as madara is only one to do so in the past. How did kyuubi recognize tobi chakra when he has been inside hosts for such a long time should be able to recognize only madara and people from his time. Tobi said he had been waiting a long time for this when obito only died shortly before ninetails attack. How is that the fourth hokage wasn't able to figure tobi out as minato is a genius. Even itachi wasnt able to figure it out tobi as obito. Doesnt make sense. There is so many questions to be answered seriously the next manga explanation wouldn't suffice.

Could be, with some sort of technique. Orochimaru was also supposedly dead but he came back through just a bit of his sealed chakra. Maybe Izuna lives inside Obito's body but we shall see. I'm just saying there's a connection between them that shouldn't be ignored.

1 There was never ever a proof that madara gave his eyes to nagato. NEVER. He just says "this Brat Nagato finally manged to grow" He still could see him as a brat when nagato was around 20 or 25.(He even calld the tsuchikage a brat, a man who is around 90 years old) We dont know if Madara gave his own eyes away i really doubt that he did. Won't make any sense at all, as he knew that he would die after awakening his own rinnegan. It would be to naive to think he found nagato in couple of hours or so before his death to transplant the Eyes into him. No Nagato had to be found in much longer terms, maybe as an Experiment. Madara talked about Kabuto that they may found the Uchiha tablet and read it, but they didnt, thats why i think Madara found out a secret and tested it on Nagato. Nagato was a back up Plan. Madara himself could also have lied about his death, after achieving Rinnegan.

I mean, how should the strongest men alive get killed? Maybe Rinne Tensei Izuna? This wont work, why should he Rinne Tensei him, and put him into Obito when Madara really died after he got his Rinnegan and gave it to Nagato? I mean Obito was a Child so Madara never could put someone else into OBITO

4. hello? Itachi was 13/14 and had his Mangekyo Sharingan. Look at Naruto or Sasuke mother****ing overpowered Bobs around the age of 16
