I don't think Obito died, I think Izuna and Zetsu probably nurtured him till his eyes were strong enough to become Izuna's vessel. Also you will notice that the masked man at the Uchiha massacre has long hair like Izuna so I dont think Obito was the vessel at the time.

Yeah that's what I think....I've always noticed how similar the bangs looked to Izuna's and he didn't have his hair in a ponytail which made it look more like madara's.

Well its obviously Obito's consciousness he seems to know Gai and Kakashi very well. The was evident in the chapter about 3 weeks back. However I am not ruling out the possibility of split personalities

THEORY: all of tobis theorys are correct

yes, no typo in the title ,so first i'd like to point out something: this is a theory of mine and it's title is all of tobi's theorys are correct, so yeah a little bit confusing i know
however to the theory:
1-INTRODUCTION:

1-INTRODUCTION: tobi ( masked man ) appeared in: the uchiha massace, when kisame was young ( controlled kiri ) , in the kyuubi invasion also madara know tobi ... he said that something like " is he continuing the moon eye plan"
there's also the fact that tobi know nagato, and tobi gave nagato hiis rinnegan and also tobi know way too much about rikudou sennin... so i know you might say HOW THE HELL TOBI IS OBITO , obito is too young to know nagato, let alone know madara
so first key word is: tobi =/= obito BUT obito = tobi ( read the rest and you'll understand )

2-THE FACT:

3-THE STORY: now the story: madara after being kicked out of his clan and after losing to hashirama, got the rinnegan ... then he discovred the secret table ( can only be fully readed with rinnegan ) and after knowing the truth from it he wanted to make the moon eye plan, however he can't accomplish it alone because he was near the death so he created "TOBI" and he was teh first tobi, then the second one was izuna, his brother and izuna was choosed because he has the necessary angry and hatred, however izuna knew a new light via the eyes of hatred,rinnegan, but also madara passed down two other things to izuna, the truth that is in the stone and mask yeah the mask of hatred that each tobi wear, they wear it to combine their identitys and make it one ... just one identity TOBI ... however even izuna wasn't able to accomplish the moon eye plan so he did like his brother, choose another uchiha that had the necessary things in him passed down rinnegan to him told him teh truth gave him the mask ... and each tobi do the same and pass down the identity to another one and from the tobis there are: kagami, izuna , madara, obito and many others and that's why i said every tobi theory is correct because theory is all of these ppl ... and that's why obito said to konan that the rinnegan was his to begin with and BTW nagato was choosen as tobi as well but he was a failure because he wasn't an uchiha that's why tobi took rinnegan from him
and the one that gave nagato the eyes was te previous tobi however the previous tobi saved obito and used zetsu to heal his wounds and he told him about nagato being a failure, however obito choosed to guard nagato and BTW it's the preevious tobi who teached nagato how to use the rinnegan, and you know the rest

4-ZETSU:

4-ZETSU: zetsu was created by madara as well, black half of him is from uchiha DNA and white half is senju DNA and he represent te rinnegan ( senju+uchiha) his mission was to guard and help the tobis he's like a chain that link between them

5-THE CONCLUSION: tobi is really no one because he doesn't have an exact identity ... he isn't someone HE'S THE INCARNATION OF HATRED ITSELF ... also it's madara the first tobi that why obito was calling himself madara and thats also the reason he know so much about rikudou sennin ( the secret stone )

7-NEXT TOBI: next tobi is sasuke, after meeting the previous tobi he is going to be choosen as the next one seing that obito's mask is broken and he isn't a tobi anymore and that's why naruto vs sasuke is going to be the last fight in the manga as kishi said

I think it is obito's father, it would fully explain the resemblance, the timeline, the awakening of MS, the distance between him and minato (the way he spoke to minato was odd considering their history), the world renowned status amongst missing nin (kisame), the resentment towards the leaf, having huge ambitions of saving others (as obito did, he wanted to be hokage and protect his allies)

Also it is unlikely that minato would not have immediately retrieved obito's body from the cave-in, after dismantling the members of the ambush ofcourse (as sharingan bodies can not be left lying around due to their valuable dojutsu), he probably the retrieved obito's body and gave it to his father at the bridge to take back to konoha for a proper burial.

I would also like to point out the parallels between Naruto and Tobi, Naruto seems to be a yang powerhouse where as Tobi is a yin power house, also To i's son (assuming the theory is right) had the same dreams as Naruto growing up, and behaved in a similar way, thy also both had great potential.

Also adding to the yin yang aspect, Naruto lost his parents where as obito's parents lost their child, Naruto parents bestowed their power onto him in death, whereas it was through he death of Tobi's son that he gained his power.

Another reason I find I hard to believe that Tobi is obito is from the fact that he was able to enslave Kurama, you need power chakra to genjutsu Kurama, a child like obito did not display such things, even Madara had to wait until he was prime before he could enslave Kurama.

Not only was he able to enslave Kurama but he also summoned him, that takes massive amounts of chakra due to kurama's size, I think this person was obito's father. Infact I have even more on this.

So you're telling me that if your son died, instead of burying him, you'd willingly use his body and have it continually come in harm's way?

I don't think that works.

I wouldn't start making I told you so threads just yet.. wait for next week..there are massive plotholes in the whole tobi= obito thing.. 1 being that someone would have had to been alive to teach obito everything....

History of the uchiha
History of the sage of six paths
History of clans in Konoha (aburame etc)
History of other villages, ninja tools and all of that..

Tobi is someone who has a shit load of knowldge.. knowledge one does not simpyl get. ... especially when they never showed genius qualities..

Then there is the fact that Madara knows Tobi.. something the shouldn't even make sense for the timeline unless two tobi's existed..

so so much more..
Kishi really has a load of explanations cut out for him....

I just have a quick question that will probably be passed up by all of the tobi/obito hate threads.

When did Tobi come out of the pocket dimension? The entire chapter was an obito back story until the transition to tobi's face... but there is no scene that showed him coming out of the other dimension... Not that relevant, but still a detail that should have been added.

Where did Obito's eye being crushed come from?

Ok so Tobi is Obito. That's awesome. Now the only question I have is was his right eye crushed by that boulder or not? Did that come from the manga? Or was that something that people just made up, because I definitely have been believing it whole heartedly this entire time. Obviously Obito's eye wasn't destroyed. So do any of you know where that came from?
