Orochimaru and plotholes?

What I've never understand is that if Orochimaru and Kabuto already have the corpse of Madara and also have a collection sharinganS in them, why is it that Orochimaru still is finding a container that is an Uchiha during his the time before all the Akatsuki related stuff happened? If we assume that he succeeded on "possessing" an Uchiha (Itachi or Sasuke) wouldn't the body end up rejecting him after 2 or 3 years in the end? Why didn't he just use some other body and then transplant a sharingan in it? Did he need a living specimen that is an Uchiha to examined? And for what reased did he need to examined it? Or was it merely a plothole? Note: It was already confirmed that the sharingans that Danzo owned are from Orochimaru.
