This is tobi's exact words that he says to kakashi.... My theory is that tobi could have possibly been talking about Kakashi failing to protect Rin and if this is true.. HOW WOULD TOBI EVEN KNOW?!!?!

well I don't think it is Obito because how would he physically grow, gain forbidden/not well known knowledge, and the skill to take on the 4th in such a short time (remember kakashi was a kid when the fox attacked)
As for gaining that knowledge he probably had zetsu spy or was some how connected with danzo. So while it is shocking, it is also plausible that he somehow obtained this knowledge.

So hes words infront a grave isnt worth a thing cuz he knew that he could make something to dont let Obito die.
