Post counts. What are they for? Do I get certain feats by reaching certain post counts?

Yay I just got 1700.
You need post count to rank up.

Genin is 50
Chuunin is 200.
Special Jounin is 550.
Jounin is 1050.
S-Class Ninja is 2400.
Sannin is 4300.
Kage is 8000.
Sage is 10,000.
Hellsbadass is 30,000.

Go here.

Your nearest to genin so when you get 50 posts you will rank up.

The main use of your post count is for RolePlay. It gives the ability to.
  • Create a biography.
  • Train in/Use elements.
  • Apply for senseiship and Sage missions.
  • Determine mental strength/experience with Jutsu.
  • Etc. Etc.

Some people just spam because they like to see a high post count number.

Just to state the obvious your postcount is the amount of posts you have made on NB. For normal members it's just some statistic without any practical use, however for people who roleplay it has a certain value. Our RP system is based on the amount of posts you have made: the more posts you have, the higher your rank will be and the more skills you can learn.

The table of NB ranks has already been posted above.
