I already hat this kind of idea mentioned in the sticky also in some other theards, but i would like to create a short* theory about it as well.
Don't know why, but this would make kinda sense if we look at the Plot right know.
Kabutos thoughts are important here~
first this was makin me kinda suspicous about Orochimaru & Madara. Well as we Remember Orochimaru tried to summon a thrid Coffin at the fight with Hiruzen. Everybody thought it should be Minato but that was a wrong guess. I dont believe Orochimaru would make such a big mistake and summon someone who cannot be summoned anymore. This thrid Coffin was for sure Madara! And thats why Hiruzen stoped the last summoning.
Well this is not everything.
As we know Edo Tensei brings u back with the DNA at the Time where u were Alive. So we know that DNA manipulating would only work on living things. If a Body is dead, u can't change anything there.
So Madara said he died shortly after he got his Rinnegan activated. But if Madara really gave Nagato his Eyes this wouldnt be logical anymore.
Here is the Reason why:
If Orochimaru really created Madara this way he is know, this means Madara had to be Alive at that time of Experiments. So my final guess is Madara, Tobi & Orochimaru were partners. Thats how Tobi maybe got to know how to transplant eyes and his wisdom about Senju Cells etc. As we know Orochimaru created Yamato. So what if he was a prototype to give Madara this powers? Why i Think Madara had to be alive? Well if its true what we know, then the Edo Tensei would have brought an Madara back from the time before he "died". So Orochimaru could not experiment on an death Body, to complete him the way he is now for makin an Edo Tensei of him.
U heard Kabuto talking about Madara about the "golden Age" ? Maybe that a good point to think about it, when this " golden Age " was. This would explain why Madara also asked " who does control the Edo Tensei" maybe he guessed it could be Orochimaru?
Well im pretty sure Orochimaru helped Madara to get this strong and activate his Rinnegan so he could " Take over " his Body. That could be a reason why Madara died shortly before his Rinnegan activated. Maybe Madara wanted to prevent to be took over, and told tobi to make Nagato revive him. So Orochimaru betrayed Tobi & Madara. Maybe Orochimaru had somehow an adventage against Madara at thats time.
Now u could say, but how got Nagato his Rinnegan? Well i think Madara searched for a way to activate it. And well Nagato was maybe an experiment for him, so after he reasearched somehow how he could get this new power. Thats why Madara indirectly " gave " Nagato the Rinnegan. possibly he found a way to awaken them inside of him. And Later he just followed his moves & how his skills grow.
I mean if Madara really hat activated his Rinnegan and died shortly afterword, how could he know about the abilitys like Rinne Tensei without seeing it once? It would be to iritating if he gets the Rinnegan and instantly knows everything about it. I mean even Tobi was is not able to fully control it, even if he knows its powers.
Madara for sure trained his new Skills that he achieved, u saw that in the fight with the 5 Kage. He instantly knew every Jutsu of Hashirama, it would be to stupid to think that he looked at it and just knew how he has to do it. Yeah Yeah Sharingan copy shit, but right there he could not copy anthing he never was able to do by himself from the 1 Hokage.
Also how should have Madara found someone like Nagato so fast, to give him his own Rinnegan? I mean Madara himself said, he awakend it shortly before his death. It cant be possbile to find someone this fast...u say why couldnt tobi later find someone? Well Madara knew Nagato himself so he hat really searched for someone like him. And i do not believe he did that so " fast ". As if MAdara would know " Yep i will get the Rinnegan, but im for sure i will die so tobi give my shitty eyes to Nagato to make him Rinne Tensei me, a Jutsu i never saw how it works, but sure it exists and it will work fine...so do as i say u stupid Punk or i will kill u" this wont make any sense at all.

This is why i think Madara never gave away his own Eyes to Nagato.
I Also think Tobi did not existed at that Time,(it could be but still there is no proof). This Information he for sure could have got by Madara himself.
Here also Minato asked if Tobi was Uchiha Madara, but there Tobi did not try to convince Minato to be Madara anyway.
He just said " I wonder about that" after Minato stated he should be long dead. So i Think here Tobi indirectly said, Yes Madaras is still alive and im in action for this Plan~
For the Ones who did not read that:
- Madara, Tobi & Orochimaru were a Team
- Oro experimanted on them and Madara got the Rinnegan
- Nagato was a Back up Plan and Prototype Experiment to study Rinnegan Ability
- Madara never gave his Eyes to Nagato
- Madara died far Later maybe shortly before or after the attack on Konoha. that Tobi lead.

(This would also bring up a Solution about some Plotholes, of Tobi beeing Obito, just sayin...but irelevant for my Theory right now.)
