Do that and there shouldn't be a problem. If there is then you have the wrong link.

You should post the image's url here, since it might be that the server its on might not be allow hotlinking, or you've got the url for a page and not the single file.
If you don't have a url and the file is on your computer, click the "upload your images" link in my sig.
