Itachi was 21 year old when he died, and the only flaws he had was stamina and illness. If he wasn't ill and had Naruto's chakra levels, no one, I repeat, no one alive (at the time) could beat him 1-on-1. Now, comparing Mei with Itachi is, at least for me, just stupid.

Stop watching anime. In manga, Kakashi didn't cast any mist to begin with.

There's a difference between clone with 30% of Itachi's power and clone with 30% of Itachi's chakra. U_U

Itachi is of a higher caliber than Mei though I will admit that mist is pretty nice way to stop a lot of the sharingan's effectiveness. If it's acidic mist it could even eat away at Susanoo. But to answer the question asked no they are not equal Mei happens to provide a fairly good counter to the sharingan.

Another manga fact, the mist didnt work against a true uchiha, a true master of the sharingan, madara

"Itachi won't fall at something Kakashi fell for, simply because it's Itachi". That's what I call being biased. Kakashi's counter for the mist is Ninja Hounds while I don't think Itachi has any.


Zabuza would need to free Kakashi if he wanted to finish him off, so Kakashi wasn't really in danger, team 7 was.

This and that's what separates Kakashi from Itachi.
