Kimimaro beats any form of part 1 sasuke. His speed is a 4.5,his taijutsu is a 5,he has an invelnerable body,he can grow bones wherever he wishes,he was oro's strongest servant above kabuto who was said to be kakashi's level,he solo'd the sound four,his cs2 is much stronger than sasuke's,he treated kn0 nauto like a baby. How can anyone say sasuke has a chance in part 1?.

Pnj ain't stop ish, gaara was clearly getting ready to get stabbed in the head. your talking about gaara he used his full power and almost all his chakra and still lost, kimimaro on the other hand was like the " Itachi" of part I, he used sheer will power to fight a whole field of naruto's, Rock lee + Druken Lee, and Gaara before dying. Gaara can't even compare to Kimimaro.

who says kimi would have made it to that point if gaara had used shukaku from the start/middle of the battle?,and gaara didnt loose that match,noone asked kimi to be the epitome of will power to fight against gaara and be pushed so far that his sickness killed him.
