my good sir, the americans were in a race with the russians regarding this issue.
as we know, the Earth is surrounded by the Van Allen belt ( a lot of radiations, bla bla, living things, bla bla, dead if exposed).
the scientists have confirmed that in 1969 a solar eruption took place. that eruption enhanced the radiations from the Van Allen belt. they've calculated that the spaceship needed a minimum of 1 m of lead insulation for the astronauts to survive the journey through the belt. did Apollo had that kind of insulation? no.
So science is wrong and god is right end of story
