we all know that the sage of six path basically created ninjutsu's and if you haven't notice every type of sage mode has an elder that looks like they have been here for over 500 years or just ancient dressings, so i think that those animals were the sage's summoning.the sage frog has a unique power to see foresee the future just like the sage of six path's did and that's why kurarma said to the other tailed beast i think naruto is what the sage was talking about.

i think the sage of six path's created these sage mode or learned them and he passed them down because the sage of six path was a monk(if you are a monk training for sage mode won't be hard for him) and when you think about it how would the sage of six path beat someone on the ten tails level maybe all three sage mode's would have helped the sage of six path defeat the ten tails think about it super strength,sensing an attack,every ability enhance genjutsu,ninjutsu,taijutsu,genjutsu won't work on the sage as well like snake sage mode,and he can use other attributes like oil,fire, and other tech's and there also slug sage mode which would probably heal him since tsunade has a slug and they heal people so maybe that's what slug sage mode is.

well originally i think the sage of six path's left some thing's after he died and that was the body(powerful nature releases/all around user's like tobirama hashirama, and tsunade) then gave the elder son the his eye power of the ten tails dojutsu which is the sharingan and rinnegan.
the hyugua are related to the elder son clan which are the uchiha clan but i think the hyuga were made by the elder son having two sons one with a byakguan and one with the sharingan because the dojutsu is a mutation and it could change overtime since the ten tails was the one that originally had it and if the sage of six path tamed the ten tails then it would change the sage like the jinchuriki's giving them traits which the sage got.
if look at the symbols for his yin and yang much like the hyugua clan symbol you would know that they are related to the sage of six path like how a uchiha would know they are related by looking at the tomoe's.
basically i think the hygua were the younger son and their father outcasted the hygua and since the uchiha were first he made the uchiha there main branch of power or it could be since the elder son also believed in power he might have saw the uchiha with a similar dojutsu to him and chose the uchiha.
so i think the hyugua were outcasted and over time lost there ancient art i think that hygua eye power weere not for ninjutsu or even genjutsu but just for taijutsu similar to sage mode but light touches can even mess with someone like the third raikage since it is the inner organs.so i think the hyuga were meant to have sage mode but lost that art over time because when you think about a hyugua with sage mode would be almost unstoppable with their already known taijutsu

basically i think the sage mastered every sage mode all three and with that he had the ability to take on the ten tails since the ten tails is the original one with dojutsu and since the sage had sage mmode and also understanding of ninjutsu he was able to seal the ten tails like a jinchuriki and gain the abilities of the ten tails which is the dojutsu like all the other jinchuriki do.
also that the sage had two sons the younger son was all around at ninjutsu,genjutsu,taijutsu, while the elder was really about yin and yang like the rinnegan spiritual power.then the elder son had two kids and felt like the uchiha had more powerful eye's and made the uchiha his main branch making the hyuga outcast and i feel like the hyugua took that system and that's why they still do it today since the elder son had that policy of the elder con being greater than the younger so basically both hyuga and uchiha had the curse of hatred.
The hyuga art is not fully complete and they need to learn sage mode to complete there new art or there lost art from before which was lost because the hyugua had to abandon it for some reason and could be the reason why don't even use ninjutsu anymore it could have been a tragic event and when you think about if the hygua used sage mode this would protect there blind spot also enhance there already power taijutsu, and they would see all types of chakra and complete being the all seeing eye because people can't see senjutsu chakra unless you master it, so there defense offense would be incredibly up and they would just use one air palm to destroy mountains if they had sage mode, avoid techs with ease with sanke sage mode, slug sage mode would heal them and there broken chakra points and the hyugua are monks so i really feel sage mode is for them.

also the hyugua are suppose to be the strongest clan in konoha so they are even stronger than choji's clan but some don't acknowledge this, we have really only seen the children fight like neji and hinata, we barely see there leader fight.
