Sharingan is growing stronger and stronger - new techniques and Co. - and Byakugan stays...Byakugan AND is not very implanted into the story :/ the story of the hyuuga clan started good but that her father hates ( well doesn't hate but..disresptect ) hinata so much for her weakness is hard for me

Well it's good that it changed over the passing chapters but it's so much discrepancy when it comes to the first part and the second considering the Byakugan that it's unbelievable...

I wonder what Kishi would respond to this question if he were asked about this.

Yes, I have to agree that Sakura and Tsunade are on my favourite list, nonetheless but I do like as well characters as Hinata, TenTen, Ino, Kiba, Neji, Akatsuki members and so on...
As a matter of fact, I can't call them favourites because each one of them have unique special power/personality feats that makes me like them.

Regarding the other female characters from other stories, don't know what to say because I haven't read many stuff besides Naruto and few older others.
And regarding the sexism thing regarding Kishimoto, I think I have explained myself very well of why he is kile that PLUS you brought up a very good point as using them as ***-tools because women atract men and it has shown here that the majority of times, people prefer Hinata for example over to Sakura or Ten-Ten/Ino because she has, I quote: "boobs". Hell of a logic, if you ask me.

And well, I agree that over time men have been dominant power but we don't live in that era anymore... women have evolved and in tier of intelligence at least, they are on the same tier.

But looks like, in the end, Kishi doesn't live up to date, lol.

And to be honest, his story isn't a real strenght-based world because everything is based on chakra, so why to make the women weaker and the males powerful IF the base element is the same for everyone?

I still have hope he'll improve regarding women related feats.

My favourite one was Inheritors of Will of Fire.
There, Kishi can be stated that he did right with all the characters, although the central theme was of course, around Naruto.

IDK I think women power is perfectly addressed in this manga. Most villages would not survive if women were of equal power to their men. Think of the battles that would take place! No, women are support ninja just like they should be in real life. Women earning their freedom was what brought this world to total shit. They have the right to choose their man and that is such bullshit.

Women get to choose = More men are not selected = More men are unhappy and unproductive = Bad employment rates and higher crime rates

All because women have civil rights.

Back to manga, you also can't say 2 Kage are useless against Madara. 5 Kage are useless against Madara. Their support roles are splendid as intended. Ten Ten may not have any wins, but on real ninja missions off panel she is beast mode experienced. But she can't step to real men because that is the natural balance of humanity.

Interesting thread. Good one on bringing up sexism, although imo your analysis on this was shallow, as in you wanted to make up for that by bringing up facts to empower characters you relate to. Instead, you could have demonstrated how powerful Tsunade is, but you yourself diminished her status to support your point. I think you should give less importance to feminism. (edit: I think its useless to empower Sakura as she isnt purposedly a powerful character, unlike Tsunade).

On the other hand, the war theme is so much cooler :9 and useful imo. There might be more underlying themes In Naruto, some obviously religious and occult even.

edit: As in how Kages are always blood related (indicating oligarchy), even though the whole anime suggests anyone with enough will power can make it there. Or how Konoha represents USA (stone faces, for example), which might indicate political themes.

It's not the character I am related to, because I am a mix of different characters if we go by this. I explained on various threads and to various people why I chose these 2 characters. Because they receive the most undeserved hate around the base and not only. Tsunade analysis from another (power and feats and such) point of view, that's another story.
Sakura's role is another one here and it happens to be one of the central themes in Narutoverse. Meaning not losing your humanity. But because she has been shown to show exception than most of the shinobis right there, she's been targeted as useless. Oh well. And it's not about feminism here, is about equal chances between sexes.

The Pein arc, indeed, hides many more layers, that's why I JUST love it.
And yes, I've been thinking at the connection with the USA as well since I've seen the Hokages face carved.
And I also believe that bijuus are representing for example the weapons of mass destruction. I mean, a weapon of mass destruction was used on Japan in the Hiroshima and Nagasaki event.

It's not contradiction. Power displays are very different regarding men and women.
Sakura here is the subject of another thing, emotional world, but seems that the Naruto readers don't give a crap about that, lol.

Kishi didn't write Inheritors of Will of Fire. But he did write Road To Ninja which is focused on Naruto and a little but on the Konoha 11.
