Possible explanation about Edo Hashirama/Tobirama power

My theory is that Orochimaru knew about the Release seal, so he kept full control over the Edos.
Afterall, there's no way Tobirama doesn't know the Release seal, when he created the jutsu in first place.
To avoid Tobirama (probably Hashirama knew the seal too) releasing the jutsu and becoming an immortal ally of the Third, he kept full control over the Brothers, and since he had no experience/didn't know their battle style, he just used them as supports.

Kabuto throught he surpassed Orochimaru Edo Tensei, however, unlike his master, he had no idea about the Release seal, which is why he gave full control to Madara without thinking about the risks.

So basically, Orochimaru is still smarter than Kabuto.

Very true plus rep, and did anyone notice in that fight oro, hashi and tobirama never fought at the same time. It was always just hashi and tobirama while oro stays back and sometimes hiruzen would run str8 at oro and they would fight. That supports the OP

Make no mistake, the point of the thread is to explain my theory about the Hashirama/Tobirama power gap between Part I and Part II.
That was only my observation, since Kabuto throught he surpassed Orochimaru , i'm not a fanboy of either characters. (althrought both Oro and SM Kabuto are pretty boss)

Madara only regained controll of his own body when edo tensei was released by itachi (same with dan).
So even if oro didn't completely bind tobirama, he still wouldn't of been able to break free.

Oro binding them just broke the risk of edo tensei being broken by an emotional response, like Sai's brother.

Hashi and tobirama's seal wasn't released. Their souls was pulled out by the Reaper. However, all of Kabuto's edo tensei's was released through the help of Itachi, so the souls of the body has control for a few seconds before being transported back to the Pure World.

but plausible theory. I agree with you that Oro fully bound hashi and tobirama to do only what his command and did not give them some free will to do their battle styles to be more careful. Kabuto was just plain careless.
