The purpose of rinnegan?

We need both Senju and Uchiha DNA to awaken rinnegan right. So does it make sense if Rinnegan's purpose is to encourage marriage between clan and to prevent war between Uchiha and Senju?

Rinnegan is the evolution of Sharingan. Madara awaken it shortly before his death. Their was also no purpose until Tobi/Madara gave it a purpose.

That makes no sense that wouls assume the rinnegan was made sometime after both clans were around and a fued was already raging the fact is nagto has the rinnegan he was an uzuamaki you need both dna from senju and uchiha to have the rinnegan and yet you still cannot put two and two together that the uzamaki bloodline is the clan the sage is from read up on the sage then read up on the uzamaki clan
