That anime has a pretty subpar story for me, its not bad but really the main attraction is the fanservice, if they focused a bit more on the story it might have been better.

Alright, if that is the case, I'll give the manga a try if I have time.

Check the Scans of the Dead blog for news. The artist,Shouji Sato was at a German convention & said he was doing research for HOTD, so hopefully before the end of the year the manga will come off hiatus.
Read the manga before diving into the anime. I think it's a great take on the zombie apocalypse through a teenager's POV, at least ones that have a clue & don't act like idiots. The fanservice is am add bonus. Saeko is awesome!
