Tekko sat in the inn room. He was sitting on the window sill with his arms crossed. He stared out at the sky.
Tekko: Those guys... Were they from "them"? Why would they send hitmen at us? Do they know? No, it's way to early. Still, we gotta be careful. It's too soon for them to get involved...
At this moment, Hoshi walked in.
Hoshi: Hey.
Tekko: How are the guys?
Hoshi: They're fine. Kirin was a bit critical, but he's fine now. Kusuri woke up a little while ago, but he's still resting. I'm fine too you know.
Tekko: Ah yes of course.
Hoshi: Tekko, did you know those guys?
Tekko: No. I have a hunch on what is happening, but I don't think you guys can handle it just yet. Just focus on the tournament and getting stronger. When you have, I'll tell you all you need to know.
Hoshi: But why not tell us now?
Tekko: Because you're still young and inexperienced. I don't want this to burden you. You're not ready.
Hoshi: Oh, I see.
At that moment, Kusuri walked into the room. He had several bandages on his body.
Tekko: Hey. You okay?
Kusuri: Yeah, I am. Kirin's pretty messed up though.
Hoshi: He's pretty stable now.
Kusuri: Really? Good, now we can get ready for the Tournament.
Hoshi: What?! You two need to rest a bit more! You can't possibly be ready to fight now!
Kusuri: Heh. I've gotten quite the fighting spirit since we've started our adventure.
Kusuri grins.
Kusuri: I don't think I can just stop fighting now and take a break.
Hoshi: Something is really wrong with you guys!
Tekko: I hope Kirin gets to fight. He'd be kind of mad if we wasn't able to.
Hoshi's eyes went wide.
Hoshi: You too? I'm surrounded by crazy people!
Fireworks started to go off.
Kusuri: The signal for the tournament? Perfect. It's finally starting.
Kusuri started towards his room.
Tekko: Wait guys. I've got something for you.
Kusuri: Huh?
Hoshi: Hm?
Tekko walked over to a drawer and pulled out two blue sashes.
Tekko: When I first started fighting, my master gave me sashes just like these. They were the signature look of my master. On the day he died, I promised I'd pass these onto my students so his memory will live on.
Hoshi: That's so nice.
Kusuri: It's a nice looking sash.
Hoshi: That's all you got from that?
Kusuri took the sash and wrapped around his neck so it hung a bit loose.
Hoshi: That's not how you wear it!
Tekko laughed.
Tekko: It's fine. My master wore it on his leg. It's no problem.
Hoshi: Really?
Hoshi tied it around her right arm.
Kusuri: I'll give Kirin his.
Tekko handed Kusuri another sash and he walked into his room.
A little while later, Hoshi and Kusuri were waiting. Kusuri wore long white pants and a sleeveless zip up shirt with a high collar. Hoshi wore a white skirt and orange leggings. She had on a white top with short black sleeves. She had her knives tucked into a belt.
Tekko walked in.
Tekko: Where's Kirin?
Kusuri: He's still picking out an outfit. He can't decide what to wear. He's like a woman.
Hoshi: The hell does that mean?!
Tekko: Bahahahah! You guys are a riot!
Hoshi: You people are crazy.
Kirin came out of the room. He wore a similar shirt to Kusuri's, but it had silver sleeves and didn't have as high a collar. He wore white bottoms that resembled cargo shorts, but with less pockets. He had the sash tied around his waist with a lot of it hanging down his left leg.
Kirin: Ok! I'm ready!
Tekko: Ok, let's go.
Kusuri had his sword on his back.
Kusuri: You gonna participate in this tournament?
Tekko: Nah. It'd be too boring.
Kusuri: Whatever you say. I hope to find some strong people in this tournament.
Kirin: I hope they're stronger than those guys from that town.
Hoshi: The prize money will be good for supplies.
Meanwhile, inside of a huge castle, three men stood in a room. One of them had bright red hair and his name was Kogasu. His hair was slicked back and spiky, with most of the spiky hair hanging back along his neck. He wore a black jacket with long sleeves that was all the way zipped up and red pants tucked into white boots.
The other was a man with a small beard on his chin and a thin mustache named Bansho. He wore a white buttoned shirt with the sleeves rolled up. He was bald and had on yellow trousers.
The third man had purple hair and his name was Bumu. He wore a suit jacket, dress shoes and dress pants, but no shirt.
Bumu looked at Kogasu.
Bumu: Kogasu, I heard what you did a few days ago. It was all over the media. That was pretty cruel.
Kogasu: Cruel? Everything we stand for is cruel. Ha! Real cruelty is Bansho's technique. It's a shame, it could make a great combo with my style.
Bumu: I suppose. But you killed all those people for no reason. We aren't exactly good guys, but some moral code is always good.
Bansho: What else do you expect from the Scourge born of Fire.
Kogasu: I didn't want to kill those few people. Destroying their town was my intention. Perhaps I didn't care to remember I wasn't in a killing mood.
Kogasu grinned.
Bumu: Did you bastards hear? That man Tekko got some team together and they took that pawn with that slow-ass lacky. Rumor has it he's training the new Lightning Astral. Kogasu, isn't it true that the last Lightning Astral was your past life's enemy? Heheheh. I heard the last two had a massive battle. It wouldn't end because your past life couldn't feel the full effects of the Lightning Astral's attacks.
Kogasu: You sure talk a lot. Try shutting the hell up for a sec.
Bansho: Hm? What's the matter Kogasu?
Kogasu: I couldn't care less about that snot-nose brat. The little shit's beef with that bastard you call my past-life doesn't concern me. I don't intend on ever having anything to do with this kid.
Bansho: I've never heard of an elemental Astral who disrespects himself like that.
Kogasu: Don't ever refer to me and my past life as if we are the same person. I'm a completely different person than that guy. If I ever hear you do it again, I'll kill both of you.
Kogasu got up and left the room.
Bumu: Ha! Something's got him cranky! You think the war is gonna end?
Bansho: No. This war is just beginning.
