How did tobi know obito's eye would have a handy technique

Tobi didn't have a collection of sharingan until after the Uchiha were butchered. Tobi couldn't have known Obito's sharingan had Kamui until he took it and used it.

My thought, as I have expressed elsewhere, is that Tobi took Obito's eye not for power but as a memento of a loved one. Thus, why he has featured it so prominently and why, even when he got the rinnegan, he was unwilling to part with it. It just happened to have Kamui.

tobi = obito, he didn't need to take obito's sharingan. After the current chapter 597, he obviously repeats to kakashi what he said to him in kakashi gaiden. Kakashi wasn't able to complete his mission that obito left to kakashi. he even gave kakashi his eye. His mission was to protect Rin. Obito loved Rin and kakashi failed. If obito can not believe in kakashi why would he start believing on other people hence why he started his own mission of making everyone "one".

Kumai is a MS tech....and we havent seen Tobi use any MS techs yet so how could it be Obitos other eye if its
1.Crushed
2.Not a MS tech

if you really think Tobi has been using Obitos crushed eye MS tech without activating MS every time then you are on something

for example

Kakashi:has to activate MS to use Kumai
Tobi:spams the shit out of his tech(whatever it is)....and as kakashi said its just "One Jutsu" that hes using to phase through and suck people up into the other dimension
if that was a MS tech Tobi would have been blind ages ago

since it's pretty much clear that tobi has obito's right eye
how did tobi know that obito had a space/time technique like that
obito just awakened his sharingan and he didn't even show having a space/time technique
Is there families within the uchiha clan who have different eye techniques like sasuke and itachi's family will use amaterasu, tsukuyomi and susano'o
shisui's family uses jutsu like kotoamatsukami
obito's family uses space/time techniques
if the ms was unlocked for them all
and tobi knew about obito's heritage and what kind of techniques he could unlocked and followed him or something more elaborate

maybe tobi was looking for another sharingan and he ran into obito's eye (because this happened before the uchiha massacre; he didn't have a lot of sharingans)and he got lucky to get this technique, even though it might now be his downfall.
he was probably using a different eye when he used genjutsu on yagura like one from shisui's family

You kinda answered your own question .

There are several possiblities.
Maybe he just tryed out eyes until he found one he was looking for.
Maybe certain families represent powers.
Maybe he didnt know what kind of powers to expect and was pleasantly surprised.

^ it's like the guy above me can not read properly. I am sure he said he got it in the 3rd great ninja war at the battle of the bridge. His sharingan has space time and using 1 jutsu which is obviously kamui and can cancel kakashi's. It is obviously obito's. Anyway it is most likely that he is obito because of the way he talks to kakashi and knows him so well. People just don't want to admit it because they have been mocking people who thought this for the last few years.
