Should I start watching One Piece?

Hey there NB! I had a question about One Piece. I've already finished everything there is in Naruto so far, anime and manga, and im on like episode 100 of bleach, i was wondering if i should start watching one piece now.

Before anyone says anything, I'll only watch that show on two conditions:
1. Fights have to at least be on par with naruto or bleach, if the fights aren't that cool, im not watching, that's the main reason i even watch bleach and Naruto, although their stories are pretty awesome too
2. The story cannot be boring. If this show's story is at any time worse than Naruto or Bleach filler episodes im not wasting my time with it, i've dealt with enough talking as it is haha.

So, i'd like to know what your guys' opinion is on this, NO One Piece fanboys, i wanna hear someone who's at least seen all of naruto or bleach so they can actually compare them.
BTW i coulda just started watching it awhile ago, but Pirates are nowhere near as interesting to me as ninjas and death gods lol, I wanted to hear people's opinions instead of just looking up cool fights and being spoiled, too.

What are your thoughts guys? Please no flame wars too.

Well you have ALOT of catching up to do. There are currently over 670 chapters of One Piece and the series is only half-way finished so you have a good 7 to 11 years to catch ups. The anime has over 400 episodes.

I recommend you do watch it. Its #1 in Japan for a reason.

However, beware the first 50 to 100 episodes of One Piece. One piece is in my top 5 favorite mangas but I have to admit the beginning of it sucked.
Id say you watch the first episodes to get a good idea of the characters and storyline then skip to the Alabast arc. The CP9 arc WILL get you hooked.

oh, you should definitely start it. I dunno abt Bleach -coz I don't read/watch it, but OP is better then Naruto Imo. I'm up to date with both these mangas & I enjoyed OP more then Naruto. Also you should read its manga first, there's a slight difference b/w the anime & manga.

Yes, you should, I am current with all three so I can judge.

The idea of pirates puts people off but they are far from stereotypical, you don't have to like the ideas of pirates to like it. I'll give you five reasons

1. The setting is amazing, the world created by Oda is unique and just incredible, the world building is fantastically done.

2. The characters are great, the dynamic in the crew is fantastic and every strawhat adds something to the story. Although the main character is Luffy, it is all of the strawhats who are prevalent in the story rather than one or two main characters, and all their stories and struggles connect with you.

3. The themes in One Piece are really good, and there are loads of them. One Piece will connect with you as a reader because of the great messages in it, which aren't force-fed and I think that is important.

4. The powers are great as well and don't take themselves too seriously but are badass. The fights are gripping and the powerups make sense for the most part, the power-scaling always makes sense as the story progresses.

5. The humour is also great. In the other big three members the humour dies out eventually but One Piece is always funny, most of the Strawhats are just hilarious.

The story starts slow but give it a chance, once you get to a certain point in it you will love it, I probably sound like a big fanboy but it really is good you should give it a go.

You dont need to be a **** dude you can reel it back a bit, those are just the shows im watching right now. Ive seen basically all of Dragon Ball and Dragon Ball z, and ive lost all interest in both as well. Ive also seen all of Inuyasha, Full Metal Alchemist, and a couple other shows as well. Naruto's my favorite show and Bleach is dope too so i dont really give two shits about your opinion, troll.

Warning that it DOES start off pretty slowly and the fights are NOT flashy like Bleach fights early in the story. You might have to go through 50-100+ episodes before shit gets flashy. If you don't mind then I suggest you read/watch it.

Overall, One Piece trumps Naruto/Bleach in all aspects anyway but it is slow at first. One Piece requires patience.

You also may not like the art style, but it does improve drastically as you move on.

Just don't go through 20 episodes and say it's trash because it's slow and the art is crap like some of the tools on this base.

I'd say the Skypiea arc is slow and a bit boring. The story slows down heaps in the Skypiea arc and the action is alright. I know a lot of people that have just watched just the fights and skipped the rest of the arc. If you like story and if you're patient though it's worth reading the Skypiea because there's heaps of information in the arc.

The first time I read One Piece, I only watched the fights in the Skypiea arc. I only just rewatched the entire arc earlier this year.
